Mai Shirunai was making her way to King's bar Illusions to talk to her in regards of the upcoming King of Fighters tournament. Both were eager to enter, but were lacking a third member with the recent forced withdrawal of Yuri Sakazaki. She held her invitation in hand while trying to think of who could possible team up with them when she sensed something was wrong. She paused for a moment, then continued through the alley way... a little bit quicker... a little bit more alert. Something was very wrong and Mai paused once again to look over her shoulder when she was blind sided by an attacker who nearly swept her off her feet. The assailant? Kasumi Todoh, bubbly daughter of the infamous Rhiyaku Todoh. Kasumi explained to Mai that she was testing out her new teammate and that she passed with flying colors. Mai was less than appreciative of Kasumi's antics, but the two continued on to King's bar where Kasumi made her proposal to join the two in the King of Fighters. She was on a mission to find her father, who also happened to be an old friend of King's. Kasumi thought the worldwide travel mandated by KOF matches as well as the global exposure would aid in the quest to find Rhiyaku. King accepted Kasumi's proposal and the three joined together to form the New Girls Team!

Kasumi Todoh is the single daughter of Rhiyaku Todoh, a master of Kobojutsu. When Rhiyaku is defeated Ryo Sakazaki, Kasumi tells her father to rest up and leave it to her. She is both stubborn and clueless, characteristics inherited from her father. The single heir of the Todoh family, Kasumi has to do all she can to stand up to the honor of the family! Mai Shiranui is the grandaughter of Hanzo Shiranui, master of Ninjitsu and Kopo-ken, and has learned from her father the secrets of Ninjitsu. She became obssesed with Andy Bogard who had come to train under Hanzo. She loves Andy so much, she never bothers to glimpse at other men. Mai considers her body her best weapon, she is an airhead and doesn't think logically in most situations. (read bio)

King's could not fight in official tournaments early in her career because she was a woman and was forced to hide her femininity. Though this is no longer the case, she has become accustomed to it and so King's beauty is hidden under men's clothes. Since then, King has opened her own bar, called Illusions, in Southown and is aided by her the twin sister waitresses, Sally and Elizabeth. (read bio)

Chizuru No, Rugal only siphoned some of the power when it was freed by another. He never knew that power would finally destroy him.
King So what does that have to do with us fighting you?
Chizuru You defeated the mighty Rugal. To see your true power, I held this tournament. As I thought, you won. Next I had to test you myself.
King Why?
Chizuru Because I need your help to seal off the Orochi power. There's no time left. I feel him coming!
