A year passes since the self-destruction of Omega Rugal and all in the world seems safe and sound. Finally, the King of Fighters had come to an end... or had it? Once again, invitations were sent out to the fiercest competitors on the globe and once again the Legendary Trio of Garou were called to attend. Terry Bogard was about to pass up another entry, until he noticed two familiar names on the entry list... Geese Howard! Wolfgang Krauser! The old dogs were still around after all. Pent up rage and anger burst from the elder Bogard and he rounded up his brother and their mutual friend Joe Higashi to further investigate this latest chapter in their living epic. Old rivalries were renewed as the three set off to the King of Fighters to see what was exactly was going on. Had Geese really returned? How did Krauser survive? Or was this all just a hoax to lure them out for something bigger than both Geese and Krauser?

Terry Bogard is the first champion of the King of Fighters before it became a team tournament. As his nickname, the Lone Wolf, implies, Terry is usually alone. Though this good natured fellow is normally cool and calm, in battle he attacks with fury and determination. When Terry fights, he does not always seek to win, but to take something from the fight. He and Blue Mary seem to be attracted to each other. (read bio)

Andy Bogard is the younger brother of Terry Bogard. Both are adoptive sons of the great martial artist, Jeff Bogard, whom was killed by his training partner, the Southtown crimelord Geese Howard. He is always a cool and serene guy, a good natured fellow at heart. Andy usually hides his emotions, especially his love for Mai Shirunai, but from time to time, will show how much she cares for her. Joe is the current world champion of Muay Thai, otherwise known as Thai kickboxing. Despite being born in Japan, Joe passed most of his youth training in Thailand, home of the Muay Thai style. Joe is loud, always talks too much, jokes around even when it's inappropriatebad times, and although he seems to be pest most of the time, his friends find him to be motivating due to his very good humor. Chizuru That's not important. Know this, Rugal self-destructed. You were more lucky than strong.

Terry Who the heck are you?
Chizuru My name is Kagura, the Guardian.
Terry The Guardian?
Chizuru I want to see your true power, but if you've done your best, we'll part company now. What do you say?

Chizuru I am the protector of the dark power... The sealed off Orochi power that Rugal tried to sieze...
Terry The Orochi power? Did Rugal release it?
Chizuru No, Rugal only siphoned some of the power when it was freed by another. He never knew that power would finally destroy him.
Andy So what does that have to do with us fighting you?
Chizuru You defeated the mighty Rugal. To see your true power, I held this tournament. As I thought, you won. Next I had to test you myself.
Kyo Why?
Chizuru Because there's little time left to seal off the Orochi Power. I need your help. I feel him coming!
Terry Coming? Who?
Chizuru The man who took Rugal's right eye and released the dreaded Orochi power!
Andy Rugal's right eye? Is there such a person? Wha... What's this wind? Yaaah!
Terry Hey, what's going on? Is everyone... okay?

Andy Dear Terry, how are things? Well, it's been a month since the King of Fighters '96. I'm back to training every day and I'm kicking butt... Mai is... as always, in fine form. Well, that's all for now. P.S.: I'm slated to be the hero soon. Enclosed is a picture I'm sure you'll enjoy. I won't be writing for awhile, so, in the meantime, take it easy.
