| Yuri Sakazaki, daughter of Kyokugenryu master Takuma Sakzaki, brother to Ryo Sakazaki, and girlfriend to Robert Garcia, was left out of the plans made by the Kyokugenryu Karate team for dominance at the King of Fighters. Her father felt she was a push over, her brother felt that she should be sheltered in safety, and her boyfriend felt the same. Similiarly, Mai Shiranai was cut off from her love interest Andy Bogard when he left to join his brother Andy Bogard and their friend Joe Higashi and set off to the King of Fighters, also. Feeling both left out and taken too lightly, the two girls banded together and convinced King to join them to be the only completely female entry in the King of Fighters. |
